The market is so much more than food. Volunteers set up the community room each day with nourishing snacks including this delicious Yoghurt and Honey cake made with love in our Cooking for a Cause classes. Along with a warm drink and a comforting conversation, it’s a chance for so many customers to connect with others.
The OzHarvest Market has evolved from a pop-up project to a community hub that often serves over 300 customers per day. It’s so much more than food, as conversations with wonderful volunteers offer comfort while people shop for what they need with dignity and respect.
Twice a year it becomes the centre of a social impact project Eat.Shop.Chop, where
over 400 customers shop for food and clothes, enjoy a delicious lunch and get a free haircut! Thanks to Sustainable Salons and the not-for-profit partners on-site.
This project is only possible thanks to TOGA Property Group who have generously donated the site and extended the lease for another year!
